Teaching of the Kind Mentor

Any language and words are the extremely conditions of attracting and saving sentient beings. The people who want to practice the path of bodhisattvas should be good at it. If we humbly and respectfully consult those who are higher than us, and learn with devotion, we will naturally become higher and higher.

It is shameful that we do not consult somebody. If we do not do like this, we can do nothing, so it is shameful. Therefore, there will be no shame if we consult somebody humbly. The high mountain cannot keep water, so does an arrogant person. The arrogant one cannot keep the water of merits and virtues. All of his wisdom, blessings, merits and virtues, capabilities, like water, will flow down to the humble one.

Praise the Kind Mentor

I praise you endlessly, our Kind Mentor. I am sincerely grateful to you for your timely being with me, satisfying me, giving me wisdom and helping me to get rid of anxiety and difficulties whenever I have a crying need for help.

I praise you endlessly, our Kind Mentor. It was hard for me to accept what you had taught and I was not willing to remove my karmic habit. As long as I would like to comply with your guidance, you could remove them immediately. I am grateful to you because you have saved me from the web of tangled karma and let me go ahead at ease.

I praise you endlessly, our Kind Mentor. You have protected and nourished me so that I, who am one of the beggars and refugees, can be safe and make progress at ease.

I praise you endlessly, our Kind Mentor, because you have been burdened with all the difficulties by yourself. Though I, bluffing and blustering, always deceive others using the blessings bestowed by you, you have never blamed and been disgusted with me, still hoping I can win more sincere help and respect from others.

I praise you endlessly, our Kind Mentor. I have been grateful to you for all you have bestowed on me so that I could shelter from dangers and disasters and saved my neck by a mere chance.

I praise you endlessly, our Kind Mentor, because though we have no good causes, with your help, we can gain wholesome rewards rapidly.

I praise you endlessly, our Kind Mentor, because you have saved us compassionately and taught us deeply, saying “Do not follow the demon of affliction to destroy all your good things. May you be a real heir of the Buddha.

I praise you endlessly, our Kind Mentor, because you have transformed us according to the conditions, leading us how to perceive the delusion, penetrate its harmful nature clearly from the initial delusion to the end and to apply our minds skillfully so that we can attain meritorious merits and virtues.

I praise you and am grateful to you. I beg you to take pity on me and to extinguish my delusion. I vow that my mind will accord with what you have taught and your deep meanings; I vow that I will take pity on sentient beings just like you and the Buddha.
