Praise the Kind Mentor

A little boy became dumb and mentally handicapped after being ill at the age of 2. Abandoned by his parents, he was tied up with ropes and thrown into the trash can. Later, a passerby picked up the child. The moment he cut the rope on the child, the child instinctively threw himself into the passerby’s arms like a savior. Since then, the passerby has adopted the child under the pressure of the poor family. Although the child can’t talk and can’t take care of himself, passers-by still take care of the child like their own son. Although the child is stupid, he is always inseparable from passers-by, and even has to put his arms around the passerby’s neck every night to fall asleep. Perhaps only in this way can he have a sense of security and happiness.
This report touched many people, and it also touched me, and I will never forget it for a long time.
In fact, I am just like this fool, terminally ill and abandoned. I am grateful to my mentor for adopting me.
Once I was so worried and asked, “Master, I’m so bad, will you abandon me?” The kind mentor replied, “Only if you abandon the master, the master will never abandon you.” Since then, my heart has become calm and I have a feeling of taking refuge.
Later, when I talked to many fellow practitioners who were new to Buddhism, I would tell them: “Don’t worry, the mentor is the same to you as to me. He does not treat you differently because of which one sees him first and which one sees him later, which one has a high level of practicing, and which one has a low level of practicing, which one is good and which one is bad. He treats each of us the same, and he will try his best to help each of us.” After they heard me, they all smiled at ease.
It is better to see for you rather than to hear for many times,No matter how much I say, it is not as good as going to see the mentor in person and feeling his compassion. Then, you will know for yourself what it is like to feel “infinitely tolerated while you are deeply kind loved”.
I sincerely wish that all sentient beings will have good conditions with our Buddha and our mentor, just like the Vajra, and that they will take refuge to the Three Jewels as soon as possible, free from all suffering and attain ultimate bliss.
