A Kind Mentor –5

The Avatamsaka Sutra states:
Through a Kind Mentor, I behold the Buddha; through a Kind Mentor, I hear the Dharma. A Kind Mentor is my teacher, guiding me to the teachings of all Buddhas; a Kind Mentor is my eyes, enabling me to see the Buddha’s realm vast as the sky; a Kind Mentor is my ferry, leading me to enter the lotus pond of all Buddhas.
In this turbulent and defiled world, the presence of a Kind Mentor is like the towering Mount Sumeru, their resolve steadfast and unshakable, unmoved by any storm through their boundless compassion and wisdom. Relying on their strength, we can ride the winds and break through waves; following their teachings, we find a home for our hearts; recalling their words, our hearts surge with boundless joy and gratitude. Their teachings are like nectar, nourishing our parched souls, filling us with deep love and delight.
It is through the guidance of a Kind Mentor that we can hear the wondrous sound of the Dharma. They are our teachers, opening the gates to the truth of all Buddhas; they are our eyes, revealing the Buddha’s realm, vast and boundless as the sky; they are our navigators, guiding us to the lotus pond of all Buddhas, the sacred abode of purity and awakening.
They are like a miraculous medicine king, healing the deep afflictions of our hearts; like the vast earth, silently supporting all beings, providing a steadfast refuge. They are like a gentle breeze, bringing the truth and benefit of the Dharma, soothing the hearts of all beings; like a radiant lamp, igniting the light of wisdom to illuminate our every step; like a vast cloud, raining down the Dharma of liberation to cleanse the turmoil of the world; like the pure moon, radiating the light of merit to comfort every weary soul; like the heavenly king Indra, guarding all beings with boundless might, freeing us from fear and danger.Thank you for listening!
