Praise the Kind Mentor

A little bit of life
1. I am an introverted and withdrawn person, and I do not like to deal with people. When I first started to become a monk, I didn’t know anything about life, and I didn’t even like it in my heart, and I was afraid that a layman would come.

My kind mentor teaches me a lot of ways to behave in the world. One of the things I can always remember and do is: “When the guests leave, I should send them off and say some words of blessing to them.”

Gradually, more and more people come in contact with me, I try to bring them into contact with the kind mentor and Three Triple Jewels. Every time the guests leave, I send them to the door and sincerely say some words of blessing to them. I found that all sentient beings love to hear the blessings. The power of oral karma is unbelievable, not only do I create good karma, but I am also creating good conditions with people.
2. I have always been lazy, and sometimes I don’t even want to take a bath. The mentor taught: “Arahants are pure, Bodhisattvas are solemn, which type are you? Neither the purity of an Arahant nor the solemnity of a Bodhisattva is laziness. Even Dharma protectors don’t like such lazy people, and they don’t support them. The Buddha taught that it is better to be clean, and I hope you are all clean.”

The mentor’s words are very warm and have powerful blessings. Whenever I think of these, I feel a warm feeling in my heart. I am very grateful to him and I am willing to do it well. No one has taught me these principles since I was a child, and no one has taught me so patiently and carefully even the little things.
3. Once, I went to the mentor’s place with a master. Our kind mentor brought a box of pastries from the top of the cabinet and handed it to us, and said to the master, “If you don’t have food to eat, your master will get you some. What about Fafu?” I was in tears when I heard it. At that time, I had just become a monk, and I was alone in a monastery, and I didn’t have enough food, let alone snacks. I was so moved by how caring my mentor was.
I often think: a person’s greatness sometimes does not need to do so earth-shattering things. His words and deeds, his actions, showed his kindness, compassion joy and giving, and set his pattern. Just like every bit of my mentor, I will be unforgettable, endlessly admired, and endlessly grateful!
