One aspect of wisdom is to cultivate devotion to the Buddha, where every step taken inevitably leads to happiness, though one may not perceive it.

For instance, when confronted with a challenging world filled with adversity and obstacles, a wise individual seeks the blessings of the Buddha and Bodhisattvas. With sincere devotion, one is assured of transforming danger into safety and overcoming all obstructions.

One aspect of wisdom is to cultivate within a community, where every contribution made inevitably leads to happiness, though one may not realize it.

For example, when alone, one is often prone to laziness and a lack of motivation. A wise individual is adept at harnessing the power of communal cultivation, creating an environment conducive to spiritual practice and inspiring oneself and others to progress together.

One aspect of wisdom is to be diligent and industrious, for every task completed brings forth happiness, though one may not realize it.

For instance, life lies in motion. Without exercise, the body deteriorates rapidly, and various ailments soon follow. A wise and awakened individual remains active throughout their life.

One aspect of wisdom is to offer praise and compliments, for every act of commendation brings forth happiness, though one may not perceive it.

For example, everyone yearns for recognition and praise from others. A wise and awakened individual seizes opportunities to commend others, thereby increasing their popularity and facilitating the accomplishment of good deeds.

One aspect of wisdom is to cultivate altruism, for every act of kindness inevitably brings forth happiness, though one may not perceive it.

For instance, by removing obstacles from others’ paths, one inadvertently clears their own way. The wise and awakened individual, with a heart filled with altruism, continually opens up new realms of possibility.

One aspect of wisdom is to practice the fourfold application of means and the six harmonies. Every step taken in this practice inevitably leads to happiness, though one may not realize it.

For example, when negative karma manifests as widespread illness and unrest, a wise and awakened individual, through the practice of these teachings, aligns with the aspirations of Bodhisattva Wei Tuo, thereby swiftly resolving calamities.

Is it not inevitable that every kind of wisdom produces happiness?

Once one precisely understands one’s true nature, and truly awakens to the inherent Buddha-nature within all beings, one will transcend delusions, false views, and attachments. No longer swayed by the allure of sensory experiences, one will abide in one’s own nature and attain eternal bliss.

Once one precisely understands the tools of self-realization, and truly awakens to the illusory nature of gain and loss, pleasure and pain, all of which arise from one’s own mind, one will become disenchanted with afflictions and foolishness. By following the guidance of a teacher, one can transform ignorance into wisdom through profound contemplation. In this moment, one gains mastery over one’s destiny, skillfully utilizing body and mind. Through the practice of the four applications of means and the ten perfections, one can repay the four great debts and liberate beings from the three realms of suffering, forever united with the Buddha.

Are you an awakened one?
