Mind and Body The Foundation of All Existence

Hello, everyone. Welcome to this episode of the podcast provided by the Buddhas’ Practice Incorporated of Australia.

Today, we’ll explore a profoundly important topic that concerns the well-being and happiness of each and every one of us: the art of the body and mind.

The Body as a Work of Art

Think of the human body as a musical instrument. A fine instrument needs constant care and maintenance; without it, it will quickly fall into disrepair. Our bodies are the same—they require regular upkeep. A skilled musician can create beautiful music, while someone who doesn’t know how to play can only produce noise. In the same way, a musician can play different melodies to make others feel at ease, and if we can master our own bodies, we can also achieve comfort. Otherwise, we’ll only find suffering.

Now, consider the body as a painting. A skilled artist can create a work that inspires admiration and praise, while a novice might create something that leaves people feeling depressed. It’s the same with your body. If you know how to “paint” it, you’ll do it well and feel happy and comfortable. If you don’t know how to “paint” it, you’ll create a mess, leading to distress and pain.

Therefore, we must value our bodies above all else, because without them, we have nothing. The key is to understand and master them. If you can, your body will bring you peace and happiness. If you are ignorant and handle it recklessly, it will bring you sadness and suffering. This concept is critically important because our lack of understanding of our own bodies is the root of many of our ailments.

Diet and the Body-Mind Connection

We need to understand our bodies and what foods they need. Are you damaging them or nourishing them? Damaging them will inevitably lead to suffering and pain; nourishing them will surely bring peace and happiness.

Alarmingly, modern scientific research has discovered that our improper diets and the widespread use of chemical dyes are damaging our meninges, brains, and neural networks. This can lead to conditions like epilepsy and dementia and can even cause nervous signals to misfire, leaving our bodies in a state of chaos and disorder. The great scientist Nikola Tesla had unique insights into diet, which allowed his brain to remain sharp and create brilliant designs, even under harsh living conditions. He could even operate on his designs directly within his mind. Why can’t we do this? Because what he considered bad, we consider good; and what he considered good, we consider bad.

The Origins of Our Physical and Mental Qualities

Each of us has a unique set of physical and mental qualities.

Physical Qualities: A part of our physical makeup, like hair, eye, and skin color, is undoubtedly inherited from our parents through DNA. But there is a deeper source: what we have carried over from our past lives. A study by British researchers during the COVID-19 pandemic found that when exposed to the virus, different people had varying physical constitutions; some had absolute immunity, while others became severely ill. This points to our “mission” and the physical qualities we have built up from our past.

Mental Qualities: People with strong mental fortitude can turn their words into reality, making success in their studies, careers, and family life easier to achieve. In contrast, those with fragile minds often have good intentions but can’t follow through. Mentally strong individuals can even achieve complete recovery at home with proper care. This, too, is influenced by our past.

We also face the problem of “picky eating.” If you favor certain foods and avoid others for a long time, you will not only be deficient in the nutrients from the latter, you will have none at all. It’s like a car running at high speed with no oil: the axle heats up from friction. How could it not suffer? How could it not become inflamed? This is the reason for inflammation and fever in our bodies.

Correct Knowledge and Action

Therefore, we must now establish correct knowledge, correct understanding, correct views, and correct actions. What does “correct” mean? It means taking good care of your body and mind so that you are comfortable and at peace—that’s true happiness. Conversely, incorrect views and actions will only lead to sadness and suffering. This is self-harm, self-infliction, and self-destruction.

If you feel your body and mind are weak and you can’t change them, what should you do? Don’t worry. If all else fails, we will find a way. If we can create a large-scale retreat where everyone persistently works together, encouraging, reminding, and supporting one another, we can achieve “frequency resonance.” Scientific research has confirmed that this phenomenon does exist. Given enough time, it will subtly guide you to accomplish things you couldn’t do before, making your life more beautiful.

Our Vision and Support

All of our lectures are free and government-supported. We are willing to dedicate and sacrifice our time to making a living to pursue this volunteer work.

We do not care whether you believe in Buddhism or any other religion. We are here to help and spread compassion to everyone. No matter who you are or what your ailments may be, we will responsibly help you with the issues we specialize in. Whether you have money or not, as long as you are willing, we will explore, understand, and master your body and mind together. Our hope is for everyone to benefit.

Our core principle is: “With the correct understanding, correct perspective, correct maintenance, and correct application of your innate potential, success is within reach.”

Thank you, everyone!
