Teacher’s Instruction-1

Through the harmonious convergence of causes and conditions, myriad phenomena arise, and one attains ultimate freedom.

(The Direct Path to Enlightenment) The direct path to one’s original face is to enlighten (the spirit, the nature).

Counting the sands of Zen, Esoteric Buddhism. There are countless examples. Even if one has memorized the Three Pitakas like Ananda memorizing the Dharani, one would not attain the Arhatship of a courtesan. A person with sight cannot make a blind person understand what the color red is. Even worse, there are those who teach a blind person to distinguish different colors. Little do they know that the Buddha taught according to the individual’s capacity and circumstances. Without understanding the root and conditions of beings, one is like a blind person. Yet, they still guide others to learn, cultivate, practice, and contemplate. This is truly shameless and incurable. We should promptly feel shame, remorse, repent, make vows, and offer offerings. Once the root and conditions are established, the enlightened ones will naturally come to teach at the appropriate time. Our words and deeds reveal our character. Others’ perceptions of us are shaped by these. Therefore, we must not let negativity control us. Consider this: when interacting with someone who is constantly negative, how do you feel? What is your impression? On the other hand, if you encounter someone who is positive and considerate, how do you feel? What is your impression?

Demonstrate Your Wisdom and Realization

We should be more aware that each thought is a result of our continuous conditioning, forming our unique preferences. Imagine someone were to take cat feces, fry it in oil, and repeatedly tell you it’s delicious. Without prior knowledge, you might find it quite fragrant initially due to the oil. Afterward, they reveal it was cat feces. You might still doubt their claim, questioning how they could deceive you. This demonstrates the delusional nature of human attachment. Such delusions are merely products of conditioning. Our greed and desire are also conditioned. To manifest, they must first pass through the filter of our delusions.

By gradually letting go of your attachments, you can begin to separate yourself from your delusions. Through further separation, you can achieve absolute detachment. Once detached, you will have the foundation for stability. Your path will become increasingly wide, smooth, and bright, leading you to deep meditative states and the supreme yoga. From there, you will manifest your wisdom and realization.

What is meant by “conditioned into consciousness”? Your deeply ingrained delusions are conditioned into consciousness. Once conditioned, they become deeply ingrained and manifest as delusions. With repeated manifestation, they become uncontrollable.
