The principle of transforming one’s destiny:
The principle of causality dictates that what we sow, we shall reap. Whatever is manifesting now, be it positive or negative, is merely the fruit of past actions. If what is manifesting is negative, we must transform it into positivity. From this moment forward, I shall transform it. By acknowledging these karmic fruits, we purify ourselves of past negativity and vow never to repeat those actions.
Our perceptions are shaped by our habitual tendencies and past actions. From a karmic perspective, these tendencies and perceptions are themselves fruits of past causes. Our perceptions are the result of our conditioning and actions. Conditioning is the cause, and consciousness is the effect; actions are the cause, and experiences are the effect. Ultimately, all perceptions arise from consciousness.
Therefore, it is imperative to cultivate positive causes and conditions. By viewing all experiences as positive, we ensure future positive experiences. Cause and effect are that simple. If we cultivate positive habits, we will experience positive results. This principle applies to all aspects of life.
For instance, when the urge to harm arises, we must resist. We recognize that giving in to this urge would lead to negative consequences, not because of the other person, but because of the action itself. Even if the object of our anger is unpleasant, we must remember that this too is a result of past actions. By refraining from harming and instead cultivating compassion, we break the cycle of violence. In the future, others will respond to us with kindness.
When we experience adversity, we must maintain our inner peace and happiness. No matter what others do to us, we remain undisturbed. Even if someone were to harm us physically, we would experience no suffering. By cultivating seeds of happiness and peace, we ensure a future filled with bliss. The results of such actions are truly extraordinary.
The underlying principle of all things:
The underlying principle of all things is that thoughts manifest into reality. Vigilantly guard your thoughts, sincerely desiring to eradicate the delusion of pride and cultivate the virtue of rejoicing in others’ happiness. This is the fundamental principle upon which all merit and karmic connections are established.
The principle of gain:
Only through constant giving can one truly receive. The principles of charity and rejoicing in others’ happiness follow this same path. The less one has, the more one should give and rejoice, and the more one should hope for the well-being of others. Any mindset that contradicts this is a temptation of the devil.
