To perfect one’s craft, one must first sharpen the tools.
In praise and admiration of the Master and the Buddhas’ might,
Boundless spiritual powers, skillfully transforming myriad conditions,
The scriptures clearly reveal wisdom’s miraculous display.
Spiritual powers arise from wisdom, known as the Insight of Realization,
Penetrating all phenomena, soaring freely through boundless realms,
With heavenly eyes and ears awakened, their wondrous uses know no end,
For bodhisattvas on the path to benefit beings, such skills must not lie idle.
Spiritual powers are like a bird’s wings, lifting bodhisattvas to soar,
Without them, true freedom is hard-won—how could they save all beings in peace?
Spiritual powers are sharp tools, their root purpose to benefit the multitude,
May all sentient beings break free from bonds and shine with radiant light.
The Buddha set forth strict precepts: spiritual powers are not child’s play,
Not to be flaunted in pride, nor wielded to amuse the self,
Not to indulge in affliction, nor used as mere toys for delight,
Only for the welfare of beings do they manifest naturally as needed.
May all swiftly attain liberation, dissolving every clinging tie,
Ascending together on the Buddha’s path, guiding all to the realm of awakening.
In praise of the Master and the Buddhas, their powers benefit the masses,
With hearts of compassion, joy, and giving, wisdom fills the vast universe.
