The Bodhisattva’s love— A love that sacrifices, That gives without end, That pours itself out, A boundless river of compassion, Nourishing all beings without ceasing.
But the love of beings— A love that grasps, That longs to possess, A ceaseless desire to claim, Bound by the chains of “me” and “mine.”
Thus the Buddha spoke: All worldly love is suffering, Where there is attachment, There is always pain.
