Today, the wave of AI is surging, and technology is advancing rapidly with unstoppable force. It is reshaping the world’s economic landscape and employment situation at an unprecedented pace. Those who were once diligent in traditional positions are now trapped in anxiety and confusion. My friend is in a similar situation. After losing his job, his eyes are filled with helplessness and fear for the future. The monthly mortgage and car loan payments are pressing like ticking time bombs, sharp blades piercing his body. His heart is exhausted and can hardly bear this pain.
In order to make a living, he has been running around, submitting resumes, and going to interviews, but there are very few responses. Even if he gets an interview opportunity, the competition is very fierce. Many job seekers are vying for a few positions, almost fighting each other. Moreover, new jobs often require new skills, which take a lot of time and effort to learn. For those who are already in debt, it is like adding insult to injury.
Fortunately, I was blessed by my compassionate Mentor who taught me about Buddhism. His Dharma talk, it is like a clear spring nourishing my heart, calming the dryness of my worldly worries. When my heart is disturbed by the turmoil of the outside world, his wise and powerful words can always quickly calm me down. Our kind mentor uses simple methods to integrate the wisdom of Buddhism into the subtleties of life, making us understand that everything in the world is impermanent, and the current predicament is just one wave in the long river of life.
Since understanding the subtle meaning of Buddhism, I have gradually become fearless of all kinds of difficulties. This is because I can rely on this wisdom to choose the most suitable shortcut for myself and move forward steadily. Our kind mentor not only taught the principles of Buddhism but also set an example of compassion and wisdom through personal example. His patient teaching and selfless care have provided me with a place of spiritual refuge in this turbulent world. I am willing to use gratitude as motivation, follow the guidance of Buddhism, cultivate myself and change my destiny. “I also hope to share this wisdom with more people who are struggling.
